They arent great but here are the photos ive tried to do. It was dark when i went out so i took photos of the cars lights and had a go at writting my name with a torch..(badly!!) So here they are.....

F4.5 Exposure 30 seconds ISO 100I really like this effect!!! I like the second picture as there were more cars at that time so LOADS of trails!!
The letter writting well....I need to learn to do it the other way and next time wear black!!!

Fantastic images Jo, don't be too hard on yourself, for a first go at light writing you've produced some really nice effective shots :) I'd really like to see more! I also like the fact that you have used your garden as a back drop apposed to a dark room...the darker the room/site however, you can move more and have the shutter open far longer without the camera picking up the drawer!
