The Guardian weekly entry.

Another busy few weeks...but i managed to get this task done ( Obviously after ALOT of flapping).
I had read wrong and took pictures of my friends children for the firework subject...then re-read and...DOH! A reading error!!!
But thankfully i was asked to take my camera to a family party and got my shot for the right subject!!!

I adjusted the lighting a little bit as it was a bit glary...and seriously it was just like this nothing staged a near fatal accident of lager spillage!!


Here are my fave pictures of what i thought a waste of time shoot but turns out my mate loves them and we had fun...(p.s never buy mammoth sparklers they are rubbish!!!)

I shall add what setting they were on tomorrow!

Research!!

The subject i have chosen is people. I have a few annoying sporty friends who im going to try and capture them and their love for their sport
So still buzzing after last nights session ive been franticly looking on the internet at the Photographers Marie has recommended.
Theres two artists that i have unknowingly loved for a few years. William Eggleston with his picture of the lit up flag (was an album cover for Primal Scream that was a soundtrack to my youth) and Jane Brown has taken lots of pictures of good old Rock stars i love and probably had pictures on my wall.
Being the person i am rather than go the library like a normal person i have to buy the book..so onto Amazon i go where i forget how amazing this site is....LOADS of other artist relating to what you look for come up!!!!

How very exciting!!

Ahhhh so im totally behind due to a wedding and then an illness that floored me so im desperatley catching up!
Im hopefully understanding Manual  bit better now as the last lesson i was at i had a bit of a tantrum because i thought i couldnt do it..but after a very patient Marie explained to me i think i get it now!

Shutter speed...

So i was off last lesson due to work commitments but thankfully due to this blog ive seen what photos were taken and thought ill have a go!!
They arent great but here are the photos ive tried to do. It was dark when i went out so i took photos of the cars lights and had a go at writting my name with a torch..(badly!!) So here they are.....

I really like this effect!!! I like the second picture as there were more cars at that time so LOADS of trails!!

The letter writting well....I need to learn to do it the other way and next time wear black!!!

The light task!!!

So a little bit late but here is the light task.
I had to take a series of four pictures at different times of the day of the same thing....I chose the Sun at Tamworth Castle grounds as i always eye her up in the morning whilst walking to work...

I dont think i did very well on this task. I think in future i will note down what settings my camera is on as when i went into the pictures to get the details they had settings that i didnt even know my camera had!!

Aperture Control!!

So today we have been learning about apertures. We had to go out and take some pictures using a large and small aperture.

Introduction

I have decided to start City of Guilds Level one photography course. I have to choose if i'd like to do an award, certificate or diploma...so far i feel very puzzled but very excited about this!!!
